What Is CBD?

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the multitude of Cannabinoids found within the cannabis plant.  While CBD is the dominant cannabinoid it acts synergistically with the other cannabinoids. This is why Pure Kind Botanicals offers full spectrum products.

What Are The Benefits Of CBD?

Helps the EndoCannabinoid System (ECS) maintain homeostasis in the body.  The ECS regulates your body’s central nervous system and your peripheral nervous system which includes digestion and immune cells. CBD products enhance the naturally occurring cannabinoids in the ECS system and can assist maintaining that balance. Research can be found at nih.gov.

Is CBD The Same As Marijuana?

The Cannabinoid CBD can be found in both the marijuana and hemp cannabis plant strains.  THC is the Cannabinoid that provides the psychoactive ‘high’ associated with marijuana.  Cannabinoids extracted from hemp are much lower in THC content and much higher in CBD content.  CBD products from hemp can legally only contain up to 0.3% THC so as not to have a psychoactive effect.  For those who want to avoid THC altogether, Pure Kind also offers a THC-free product line which we refer to as Broad Spectrum.

Difference Between Full And Broad Spectrum CBD?

Full Spectrum simply means we extract all cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids directly from the hemp flower.  Broad Spectrum means no THC.  This can vary company to company on how this is achieved.  Our Broad spectrum is still our full spectrum extraction however, we take the process one step further and remove the THC.

Will Taking CBD Get Me High Or Show Up On A Drug Test?

Hemp-derived CBD products do not have a psychoactive effect due to the small amount of THC (less than 0.3%).  Although there is a miniscule amount of THC in our products, we are unable to guarantee you will not fail a drug test.  Drug testing variables include the type of test taken, how much CBD and how often you are using it as well as what type of medications or other drugs you are currently taking.

Side Effects To Using CBD?

Helps the EndoCannabinoid System (ECS) maintain homeostasis in the body.  The ECS regulates your body’s central nervous system and your peripheral nervous system which includes digestion and immune cells. While studies are underway, scientists believe there can be side effects.  Pure Kind recommends seeking advice from your physician before adding CBD to your regimen. Research can be found at nih.gov.

Who Can Use CBD?

Humans and animals! More specifically any human or animal with an endocrine system. Animals such as dogs, cats, livestock and even rabbits all have an endocrine, where as animals such as lizards, snakes and fish do not.

Extraction Method, Does It Matter?

PureHemp’s extraction process allows us to produce a higher efficacy product.  This is due to our kind and gentle extraction method using food grade ethanol, ambient pressure and low temperatures, rather than C02.  Ambient pressure or no pressure simply to us is better as it leaves the molecular level intact.  Think of higher pressure like a power washer…the higher the pressure the more it wipes away the dirt.  In this case we do not want to remove or disturb the cannabinoids and we believe that lower processing temperatures is a more effective extraction procedure.  High temperatures can decrease the concentration of the terpenes and degrade other benefits of the extract.

What Does 3rd Party Testing Mean For Our Customers?

In addition to our in-house testing, we send all finished products out to an independent lab that is certified to perform and report accurate test results.  This ensures that our products are heavy metal and pesticide free, and that they contain the percentage and strength of cannabinoids we state on our products.

Difference Between CBD Oil and CBD Isolate?

Isolate is pure CBD with no other cannabinoids, terpenes or flavonoids and comes in a powder form.  The extraction of cannabinoids from the hemp flower results in a thick concentrated oil we call Gold crude, which is also referred to as the Mother oil.  The Gold crude contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids and is what we infuse into our products to create our Wellness Nectars and topical solutions. Hemp seed oil is different from the floral extracted oil and does not contain cannabinoids.

What Is Water Soluble CBD?

We’ve all heard that oil and water don’t mix.  Water soluble CBD is just another form of CBD that allows the CBD to dissolve into water. The refined CBD is broken down into nano-particles, or very tiny particles, and made into an emulsion that mixes with water.  Water soluble CBD products are often measured by how much of the actual cannabinoids are “bioavailable” or absorbed and metabolized by the body once ingested.
